Thank you to Rotarian and Superintendent Tom Hosler and Tammy Haig for being our guest speakers last week! We had a great time learning about the Learning Day by Day program and how it is benefiting our local third graders. Last year, 15 third graders successfully passed the Ohio State Reading Assessment!! Congratulations to all those who participated in the program!
2017 Harrison Rally Day Parade
The Brig US Niagara is going to set sail again!!
Join us for the 2017 Harrison Rally Day Parade on September 16, 2017. We are in need of volunteers for this event. Below is a list of opportunities on how to get involved!!
Walk or ride in this year’s Harrison Rally Day Parade on Saturday 9/16/17.
Bring a bag of candy to a meeting on or before 9/15/17 that we can pass out during parade.
I have a business that has a booth at Harrison Rally Day and would like a sign that says “A Perrysburg Rotarian Works Here” or “Business Owned by a Perrysburg Rotarian.”
Please contact President Elect Alison Frye or Ashley Lopez to sign up for one or more of the opportunities above or stop by the Sergeant at Arms table at the next meeting to sign up!
Service Opportunity
You’ve heard Les Domini, Chair of our Community Service Avenue of Service, and President Chet talk about this volunteer opportunity. Perrysburg Rotarians are partnering with the Wood County Committee on Aging to deliver home-cooked meals to seniors in Perrysburg who are homebound. (If you are thinking “meals on wheels,” you are correct, except this program is through the Wood County Committee on Aging.) No cooking required!
All you need to do is stop by the Perrysburg Senior Center at 11:15am on the second and fourth Thursday of the month and pick up the prepared meals, drive to your 10-14 designated homes, knock on the door, and hand the meal (with a smile) to the homebound senior!
Advance arrangements and completion of the attached Volunteer Profile are necessary.
To learn more or to ask questions about this project, please contact Susan Nelson or Les Domini.
