The anticipation is over! This week is the official kick off to the Perrysburg Bicentennial. As many of you are aware, several of our members have been working hard to organize this huge celebration.
To kick off the events this week, join Rotarian Janel Haas and the wonderful staff of the Way Public Library for a Perrysburg Bicentennial Birthday Party. The library will be hosting an all day party complete with birthday treats and photo booth. For a complete list of the days events, click here.
On Saturday, April 30th at 10:00am, the Perrysburg Bicentennial Committee (Rotarians Jennifer Fehnrich, Kim Klewer, Sherina Ohanian, and Mayor Michael Olmstead) will be hosting the "200 Year Grand Celebration" at the Perrysburg Municipal Building. Fellow Rotarian Clint Mauk will be sharing the City's historical highlights and artifacts and pictures will be on display. Refreshments and birthday cake will also be provided!

I think it is safe to safe that our meeting last week (April 22nd) was a show stopper! Rotarian Chet Welch helped to kick off the meeting by greeting our members and then stepping up to the podium for his fine master responsibilities. Chet will be taking on the presidential responsibilities for the Rotary year 2017 - 2018. His presidency will be the first time our club has seen a third generation President!
Our guest speakers for the week were Lori Hauser, CEO and Carl Nelson, Chief Scientist from the Imagination Station. Lori gave us a great history of how Imagination Station has evolved over the years and the impact their services are having on the community. In addition to a learning more about the science center, we had the honor of witnessing a few science projects. Not only did Carl try to pour water on Rotarian Pinky Edens' head but he also set Rotarian Laura Moore on fire. I think it is safe to say, we will talking about this meeting for awhile.
Please be sure to join us this week as we have the honor of welcoming Ashley Dibling, Sophia Walcher, and Maxwell Rossi. Ashley, Sophia, and Maxwell are the winners of the 2016 4-Way Speech Competition from Perrysburg High School.
As always, have a great week and see you at Rotary!
