“I believe everyone recognizes the opportunity to serve Rotary for what it truly is: not a small opportunity, but a great one; an opportunity of a lifetime to change the world for the better, forever through Rotary’s service to humanity.” ~ John F. Germ, Rotary International President
Welcome to the 2016 - 2017 Rotary Year. Please be sure to join us tomorrow for President Bruce Samuelson's first official meeting of the new year. We will also welcome our guest speaker Colonel Craig Baker, 180th Fighter!
A Special Note From Bob Venzel
Well, if Perrysburg residents didn’t know about Rotary before … they do now. Jackie and I give thanks to the efforts of our Rotary Parade Planning Committee and Parade Marshals for the longest (1-1/2 hour) and best parade Perrysburg has ever seen that featured:
- Over 80 entries
- 800 walkers & 275 riders
- Floats depicting 1812 warships
- A large birthday cake
- Tap dancers, clowns, and a juggling unicyclist
- 3 marching bands including the Ohio State University Alumni Band
- An F-16 flyover
- WTOL Parade Commentators
- And of course, a CSX train delay
Special thanks to:
- Jennifer Fehnrich - for her guidance and help on parade and bicentennial matters
- Bruce Samuelson - for his sage advice offered when needed
- Rick Gilts - for coordinating the parade marshals
- Dave Gemmill - for engineering lineup signs & lightweight banner holders
- Perrysburg Police and City staffers for all of their help
- Jeff Normand and his shipbuilders - for engineering an unbelievable float
