This week (Friday, October 8th) we will welcome Karen Moore as our guest speaker. Ms. Moore will be presenting on the upcoming Walk to End Alzheimer's event. We will have the opportunity to learn more about the event (hosted at Promanade Park), the Promise Garden, and how you can help end Alzheimers.

Would you like to help make Halloween extra spooky for the residents at Sunshine Communities?
Perrysburg Rotary has been asked to participate in the Spooky Boardwalk at the Maumee Campus.
We will be setting up a table/tent area to decorate and pass out candy/treats to the participants.
We are looking for 4-5 Rotarians to get in the Halloween spirit, dress up in costume, and decorate the Rotary table at this event. Set-up is from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. and the event is from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m.
It's time to start goal setting! Join our Penta STRIVE Students for breakfast and to help them start to working through their goals for the academic year and future. Rotary Guest Speaker, Sheriff Mark Wasylyshyn will also speaking to the students.
The meeting will be held in Room 1106 at Penta Career Center (8-9:30 am).

We had a wonderful time collecting local, native seeds with the Black Swamp Conservancy. Hand collecting local native seeds is a vital contribution to the Conservancy's prairie restoration efforts.
This year, Rotary International has expanded their area of focuses and has now included the Environment as the seventh area of focus. We have been called to action and will be hosting several community service projects focused on improving our environment and increasing awareness within our community!
Last Friday we welcomed Doug Kinder as our guest speaker.
Mr. Kinder is an Investigator for the Wood County Prosecutor's Office. After serving as a police officer for 27 years with the City of Perrysburg before retiring in 2012. Subsequently, he joined the Wood County Prosecutor’s Office as Investigator in 2014. His primary duty is to assist other law enforcement agencies in the investigation of major crimes, with special attention to Cold Case Homicides and Crimes involving children. Mr. Kinder acts as a liaison between the agencies and the prosecutor’s office. He is a United States Marine Corp Veteran, a member of the Wood County Child Death Review Committee, and a lifelong resident of Wood County. (Citiation: http://prosecutor.co.wood.oh.us/staff/)
Mr. Kinder gave us a very informative and direct presentation regarding White Collar Crimes and how to spot fraud in your business - inside and out. We learned more about how to prevent attacks on our IT Systems, looking for internal fraud red flags, and risk management.
