The 47th Annual Perrysburg Rotary Charter Night was a night to remember as we gathered to celebrate decades of service, tradition, and leadership within our club. Held in true Rotary spirit, the evening honored the contributions of our 47th Club President, Bill Bohney, whose leadership over the past year exemplified dedication to Rotary values. As we closed one chapter, we joyfully welcomed our 48th President, Greg Rufty, into his new role, confident that his passion and vision will carry the club forward.

The evening’s program was made even more special with the participation of several past presidents. Past President Chet Welch opened the evening with a heartfelt prayer and led the pledge, while Past President Wayne Koskinen offered a warm and celebratory toast. The highlight of the evening was the official installation of President Greg Rufty, performed by Past President Bob Venzel, who passed the torch with both pride and encouragement.

We were also honored to have many of our distinguished past presidents in attendance, including: Dave Wise (1993–1994), Dick Sipp (1996–1997), Bill Irwin (1997–1998), John Pohlman (1999–2000), Wayne Koskinen (2002–2003), Bob Venzel (2006–2007), Bruce Samuelson (2016–2017), Chet Welch (2017–2018), Phil Bollin (2019–2020), Tami Wise (2020–2021), Lorena Gloden (2021–2022), and Sherina Ohanian (2023–2024). Their continued involvement reminds us of the enduring strength and fellowship that defines the Perrysburg Rotary Club.

A highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Rotarian of the Year award to Rotarian Tami Wise. Tami’s outstanding leadership and tireless dedication to our annual fundraiser, It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere, ensured its incredible success and lasting impact. Her commitment to service above self continues to inspire us all, and this recognition was well deserved.

As we look ahead to a new Rotary year under President Rufty’s leadership, we do so with gratitude for the leaders who came before and excitement for the service and impact still to come.
