Meeting News 1.16.15

Apologies for the late timing and odd formatting of this week's e-Bulletin... the joys of technology!
We have important information from our Auction Committee and a teaser for a soon-to-come update from the Perrysburg Rotary Learning Day by Day program for our primary grade students. I hope you'll read those stories and respond to Rick. The auction supports both the commitment While we have three named beneficiaries (Way Library, END POLIO NOW, and the new athlietc facility at Steinecker Stadium), half the net auction proceeds benefits our local foundation. It's the earnings from that corpus that drive programs like Day by Day and all the grants you've seen awarded this year.
At our meeting tomorrow, we'll hear from Tony Weber of Weber Ranch in Wayne. Tony and his wife, Michelle, own and operate Weber Ranch. The Webers were born and raised in Perrysburg. After getting married and living in Montana they foun themselves surrounded with small scale farms and community gardens in Montana where they learned to grow, can, and preserve their our own food.
The Webers decided to create a smaller scale farm to become not only a more self-sufficient family but to create a natural sustainably raised product for our community. We knew that this model of farming would be more beneficial back in Ohio so we packed our bags once more and moved back to Perrysburg. I hope you'll come to hear more of their story tomorrow.
Also, please note the information about Steve Hopkins' Memorial Fund and services on Saturday. Try to come wrap your arms around Jane and her family and each other as we offer our thanks and gratitude for Steve's life and legacy.
