Meeting News for January 17th
Rotarians- we need you at this Friday’s meeting!
Our meeting this week features NFL referee, Gary Arthur. A longtime friend of the club, Gary is back again for his first hand commentary of this year’s pro-football season. We can always count on Gary to break down the controversial calls, give us the inside scoop on players, and share his thoughts on the coaches from the 50 yard line perspective. In addition to our awesome speaker, we will hear from the auction committee. Please, if you haven’t done so already, bring a cash donation for a silent auction item or your actual items to this Friday’s meeting. It’s absolutely critical that ALL silent auction items are turned in by January 24th so we have time to organize and catalog them in our new mobile bidding platform. The committee is also taking gift cards and bottles of wine from some of the Games of Chance. The big message: don’t come to this Friday’s meeting empty handed. Find something that will benefit the auction and bring it along!
Lastly, at this week’s board of directors meeting your club officers voted to subsidize the cost for members to attend this year’s district conference. The district conference is a great way to learn more about the incredible work of Rotary as an organization and build bonds with other members in our district. This year’s conference is at Maumee Bay State Park on May 16-18th. The cost for the weekend varies on whether or not you would like to stay on the property, but we are offering a $250 credit towards your registration for up to 8 members on a first come, first serve basis. The average cost for the weekend for a family of four, including meals and a room is $500 so this registration credit is a fantastic incentive to register. You can read more about the weekend at the District Conference website. Please see Rob Fox if you would like to take advantage of the $250 credit.
See you at Rotary!
