Welcome to spring which has finally arrived.  I am not sure about you but I have already had to cut down two trees, one which the last two winters ended the life of and another that the dreaded ash borer beetle decided to dine on the last several years.

Some good news- There have been no new cases of polio in the last two weeks anywhere in the world. Nigeria has had no new cases since July of 2014 and we are four months from the entire continent of Africa being polio free for an entire year!  Pakistan is down to only 21 cases this year and Afghanistan has had only one case this year.  It takes three years for a country or continent to be polio free before it is certified as being polio free.

District 6600 has now turned in enough money for polio to the Rotary Foundation to immunize 520,000 children.  There are, I believe, 63 clubs in Rotary District 6600 and I am delighted to let you know that only two clubs have contributed over $10,000 to End Polio Now for the 2014-2015 year. Perrysburg is one of those two clubs!  Congratulations to all of you who have contributed to the cause, the affect one have had on others is demonstrated by the numbers indicated above.

On another note, as a Club, we are about $4,000 behind in our annual giving goal of $15,000 to the Annual Fund.  To all of you that have contributed this year, a big thank you.  For those of you that have not contributed yet, it is not too late.  Please give this you thoughtful consideration, as Rotary International does tremendous good works around the globe. You will be hearing more in the coming weeks about giving opportunities.

Thanks and see you Friday,
