Over the last few weeks, you have all shown generosity in a big way and it started with our own local initiative to feed families through Perrysburg Christians United Food Pantry. So far we have raised over $1,200 to provide full Thanksgiving dinners to those who would not have a holiday dinner otherwise (We’re still shy of our $1,500 goal so you can contribute Friday with a check payable to PRSF).

Then on November 8th at our meeting in honor of Veteran’s Day, $800 was raised to send two Veterans on a trip with Honor Flight Northwest Ohio to see the veteran memorials in Washington DC. This may be the last flight Honor Flight of Northwest Ohio ever takes. Incredible.

Finally, last Friday, in response to the horrific devastation from Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines, we collected over $700 to go towards the purchase of a Shelter Box. That $700 was matched with $1,300 from Perrysburg Rotary Service Foundation for a total of $2,000 in relief to those who desperately need it right now. Read more about what a Shelter Box is later on in the bulletin.

Your generosity of not only time but resources is just another reason that the local Rotary club is so vitally important. When the business and community leaders of Perrysburg join together in a Rotary Club, we make an impact on the world that is not easily replaced. Thanks for being a part of it at all!

Programmatically, Friday’s meeting will feature Andy Stuart from SkyLife Technology and the timing couldn’t be more relevant. SkyLife Packs distribute aerial humanitarian aid for disaster relief. It is a fascinating concept originating right out of Toledo Ohio. You won’t want to miss his presentation.

Last but not least, invitations were mailed last week for our Annual Holiday party on December 13. Please mail your RSVP to Tom Downs or turn in at the back table on Friday. If you did not receive an invitation there will be extras at the meeting you can pick up.

See you at Rotary!
