Our Perrysburg Rotary Service Foundation Makes a Major Community Impact!
 
Our club has given more than $87,000 to causes in Perrysburg and around the world.  More grants for the 2013-14 Rotary Year will be paid soon to our Owens Scholarship and our Rotary Learning Day by Day program bringing our total to nearly $92,000.  Pat yourselves on the back!
 
Did you know that the Independent Sector establishes a value of a volunteer's time?  At a modest rate of $22.14 applied against our membership and the hours we volunteer annually, our impact grows by $55,000.
 
Local Service Grants totaled nearly $11,000
  • $4,500 to the Perrysburg Area Historic Museum to finish our $25,000 commitment
  • $1,000 each to Perrysburg Police Foundation, Wood County Special Olympics, Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Victory Center
  • Smaller grants to Serenity Farms, Downtown Perrysburg, Inc., Perrysburg Schools Bus Rodeo program, and Feed Our Neighbors at Zoar Lutheran Church
Youth Service Grants will reach nearly $14,000
  • Nearly $5,300 to support Vocational Service through our STRIVE Program and our endowed scholarship at Owens Community College
  • $4,500 to Perrysburg Rotary Learning Day by Day at Perrysburg Schools
  • $2,500 to the American Association of University Women’s Summer Tech Trek Program in STEM for high school women at Bowling Green State University
  • $1,500 to the YMCA Scholarship Fund
 
International Grants reached nearly $6,000
  • Over $1,000 each to Rotary’s Medical Equipment and Supplies Abroad (MESA) program and to Polio Plus, matching your contributions and ultimately tripling them through extra matches at Rotary International!
  • $2,000 to ShleterBox USA to provide safe housing after natural disasters abroad
 
$5,000 in District Matching Grants were awarded to the Deborah House in Romania and the Growing to Give Garden in Perrysburg.
 
Giving directed by donors like you totaled nearly $12,000.
  • More than $4,000 to PCU for our Thanksgiving Food Drive
  • $1,300 to Polio Plus
  • $800 to Honor Flight of Northwest Ohio
