Join us Friday, January 24, 2025, as we welcome guest speaker Lt. Col. Diana Sluhan, Commander of the 180 Security Forces Squadron at the 180th Fighter Wing, Ohio Air National Guard.

Diana is a native of northwest Ohio and began her military career enlisting in the Michigan Army National Guard in 2003. She earned her commission through State Officer Candidate School in August 2005.  She is a graduate of numerous military schools, including Basic Officer Leadership Course, Military Intelligence Officer Basic Course, and Logistics Captains Career Course. Since transferring to the Ohio Air National Guard in 2014, she graduated Air Force Security Forces Officer Basic Course, Air Force Squadron Officer School and Air Command and Staff College.  She is currently in her second year of Army War College and working on a master’s degree in National Strategy and Security. 

Diana’s previous assignments include Signals Intercept Platoon Leader, Intelligence Officer (S2) of the 1-126 Cavalry Squadron during their deployment to Iraq, and Company Executive Officer. During her 36 months command of Delta Company, 237th Forward Support Company, she was responsible for the train up and deployment of 85 personnel to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. On redeployment, she returned to the Military Intelligence career field and served as Intelligence Officer (S2) of the 63rd Troop Command. Her last Army assignment was as an Officer Candidate School Instructor at the 177th Regional Training Institute, Michigan Army National Guard. She transferred to the Ohio Air National Guard in December 2014 in the role of the Anti-terrorism Officer of the 180th Fighter Wing and Operations Officer of the 180th Security Forces Squadron. She took command of the 180 Security Forces Squadron in 2018.

Her military awards and decorations include the Combat Action Badge, Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal w/oak leaf cluster, Army Commendation Medal w/oak leave cluster, Army Achievement Medal, NATO medal, Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom Campaign Medals.

Diana holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Toledo, and a bachelor’s degree in biology and history from DePauw University.

Outside the military she serves on the Old West End Historic District Commission and on the Board of Directors for Master Fluid Solutions, a metal working fluid manufacturer in Perrysburg.  
 
Diana's presentation will focus on the structure of the 180 FW, how the Wing fulfills both Federal and State missions, recent mission accomplishments, and the impact on NWO.
