Join us Friday, September 18th, as we welcome Tim Tegge, Executive Director of The Sight Center of Northwest Ohio, as our guest speaker.
For more than a century, The Sight Center has worked to empower independence and enrich the lives of people who are blind or visually impaired. Today, the organization provides a unique combination of clinical and in-home services designed to help people of all ages work, learn, play, and live independently with permanent vision loss. Services include low-vision rehabilitation, assistive technology, daily-living adaptations, home-safety enhancements, and orientation and mobility training.
Tim brings a particularly personal perspective to this mission. Diagnosed with Stargardt disease, an early-onset form of macular degeneration, around age 10, he has lived much of his life with a vision impairment. A Bowling Green State University graduate, Tim now leads an organization whose work directly reflects many of the experiences and challenges he understands firsthand.
The Sight Center serves communities throughout Northwest Ohio, including Wood County, as well as portions of Central Ohio and Southeast Michigan.
We look forward to hearing Tim share more about The Sight Center’s impact, the importance of vision rehabilitation, and how the right resources and support can help individuals experiencing vision loss maintain their independence.
