On Friday,October 23rd, we will be joining Rotarians around the world to help in the effort to eradicate Polio.  In September, Dr. David Gemmill spoke to the club about the most recent information regarding the "end polio now" campaign and what we need to do to help eradicate polio around the world.  At the end of September, the World Health Organization declared Nigeria Polio Free!  As of the start of October only 2 countries remain where Polio is detected.  We are "this close" to eradicating Polio for good.  
 
On October 22nd, the Bob Evans restaurants around District 6600 will be participating in an "End Polio Now" fundraiser.  By presenting the flyer below, Bob Evans will donate 15% of your bill to "End Polio Now".  If you are unable to participate in the Bob Evans fundraiser but would like to donate, there will be donation envelopes on the Sergeant at Arms table at the Friday meeting.

Sarah Bucher, Public Relations Director for the Citizen Advisory Group.  Ms. Bucher has been proposed for membership by Alison Frye and approved by the Board of Directors.  Ms. Bucher's proposed classification will be Business Development.  Barring an objection in writing from a member submitted to the club secretary by Friday, October 30th, Ms. Bucher will be inducted into membership upon payment of dues and attendance at a new member orientation session.
 
Valerie Hovland, an Employee Benefits Attorney with Allotta Farley, LPA, has been proposed for membership by Ken Robinson and approved by the Board of Directors.  Ms. Hovland's proposed classification will be Attorney.  Barring an objection in writing from a member submitted to the club secretary by Friday, October 30th, Ms. Hovland will be inducted into membership upon payment of dues and attendance at a new member orientation session.
