Happy Birthday!! Rotary celebrated 110 years on Monday!
We have joined with 1.2 million Rotary members around the world that have dedicated themselves to making a positive impact in the lives of others. For 110 years, people just like us have worked in communities around the globe and put service above self. To see a little video that describes our impact, click HERE.
On Friday we may hear some more wrap-up of our annual auction and kick off planning for our annual Community Garage Sale. Thank you to Rick Gilts for stepping up to organize this important service and fellowship event!
For our program this week, we will hear about communicating through conflict from Erin Wiley. Erin attended Bowling Green State University and earned her Master's Degree in Clinical Counseling. She is a therapist at the Center for Solutions in Sylvania and an adjunct professor of psychology at the University of Toledo. Each of us have occasion to communicate with co-workers, friends, or family members in difficult circumstances. Erin will provide us some pointers on how to do so sensitively and effectively.
Also in this week's bulletin, please read to see a new member proposal and more information about the district conference scholarships. I'm also proud to announce that our Club is a Conference sponsor and will be underwriting the Kids Against Hunger youth and adult hands-on service project to package 20,000 meals at the conference. The packaged meals will go both to local food banks like Food For Thought as well as to support Syrian refugees internationally. Interactors, Youth Exchange students, Rotarians and their families will all be involved courtesy of this grant from the Perrysburg Rotary Service Foundation.
