Welcome to the First week of February! We are in the final stretch in preparations for the 30th Charity Auction. Have you sold your raffle tickets? Made your reservations? Given an auction committee member a hug? If the answer to any of those questions is no…tomorrow is your opportunity!

At the Auction, we’ll have a lot of help from some talented high school students who will be helping us with the mobile bidding process. All the students are part of a program called DECA and this week at Rotary they will talk to us about what exactly DECA is.

The mission of DECA is to prepare emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe. With over a 60 year history, DECA has impacted the lives of more than ten million students, educators, school administrators and business professionals since it was founded in 1946. Their strong connection with our organization has resonated into a brand that people identify as a remarkable experience in the preparation of emerging leaders and entrepreneurs (source: Deca.org).

It’s always great to have young people in our midst, especially ones who are eager to help with our Auction.

See you at Rotary!

P.S. Remember that our February 14, 2014 meeting will be held at Hollywood Casino in a private room off the buffet.
