Welcome to the first meeting of a new Rotary Year! Join President Jon Ahlberg on Friday as we begin to Light Up Rotary!201 years ago, the skies of Perrysburg were lit up and the future of a young nation hung in the balance. Listen to Scott Lonsdale, Acting Site Director of Fort Meigs speak with us about the site's rich history and the exciting programs it offers in inform and enrich the lives of Northwest Ohioans and thousands of visitors each year. A love of history is in Scott's blood. He received his B.S. in History from Easter Michigan University and since age 10 has been rudimental snare drummer & member of the 1st Michigan Colonial Fife & Drum Corps. We may not have drums on Friday but we promise you a great program!
This bulletin also links you to stories of how our club lit up our fund-raising and gift giving this year with a story about the results of the Perrysburg Rotary Philanthropy Plan for 2013-14 The numbers and the hours are service are impressive. Please take a minute to read through it and think of the ways that you can support both our raising and our giving back. Events like our Golf Outing and our River Run are great ways to get involved, have fun, and raise the dollars we turn around and re-invest in worthy causes here and around the world. Be sure to read about the final results of our Perrysburg Rotary Community Estate Sale, too.
It's a great day to be a Rotarian. Over the next few weeks, we will induct three new members to add their light to ours. Think about who you might invite to a meeting and propose for membership. See Ken Robinson for help on the process or even to make an ask together!
Last but certainly not least, Friday is the last day to sign up for our club Summer Fellowship at the MudHens. This event is on Thursday July 17th. Register online by clicking HERE or see Pat Amico at Friday's meeting.
