July kicked off a brand-new Rotary year, and we wasted no time putting President Hallie Housman Nagelโs theme, Create Lasting Impact, into action!
๐ A New Rotary Year Begins
We rang the bell on July 10 for our first meeting of the 2026โ2027 Rotary year and officially began the journey with President Hallie Nagel serving as the 49th President of the Rotary Club of Perrysburg. New year. New ideas. Same commitment to Service Above Self.
โ We Tried Something New!
Our first-ever Rotary Before Hours brought Rotarians together bright and early at the Fort Meigs YMCA. Coffee, conversation and fellowship made for a pretty great way to start the day. Thank you to Waterford Bank for sponsoring this new opportunity to connect!
๐ฆ And We Made Time for Ice Cream!
Because fellowship is important too! Our July Rotary After Hours: Ice Cream Edition took us to OโDeer Diner for a summer evening of good conversation, good company and plenty of ice cream.

July also launched our new Impact Box initiative! Rotarians collected backpacks, notebooks, crayons, #2 pencils, markers, folders and composition books for the Perrysburg Heights Community Association. Shelly Ulrich and Jill Morse from PHCA worked directly with Chris Harper and Morgan Casey from Perrysburg Schools to make sure our collection focused on the supplies local students truly needed.
๐ค Incredible Stories at Our Friday Meetings
Our July speakers reminded us just how many different ways people are creating lasting impact.
๐ Kelly Gerken of Sufficient Grace Ministries shared the powerful mission of providing comfort, hope and support to families experiencing pregnancy and infant loss.
๐ถ Oliver Hazard brought a little hometown music to Rotary, sharing their journey from Waterville to stages far beyond Northwest Ohio and reminding us of the power of creativity, community and staying connected to your roots.
โค๏ธ Chris Vickers of WTOL closed out the month by sharing his work as a St. Jude Ambassador, the incredible success of the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway and the special Northwest Ohio connection to St. Jude founder and Toledo native Danny Thomas.
๐ Rotary Around the World
We even found Rotary beyond Perrysburg! Rotarian Lidia Ebersole and her family traveled to Poland and spotted a Rotary landmark connected to the Rotary Club of Gdaลsk, while our own Club Administrator found a little Rotary inspiration while visiting Rotary Island Park in Alpena, Michigan. Proof that wherever summer travels take you, Rotary has a way of showing up!
From service and speakers to coffee, ice cream, music, travel and new ideas, July was a pretty great way to begin our 2026โ2027 Rotary year.
