On Friday, September 11th, Perrysburg Rotary will take Rotary on the Road to the 180th Fighter Wing in Swanton, Ohio, as our nation marks the 25th anniversary of the September 11th.
Our visit will give us the special opportunity to see the Northwest Ohio 9/11 Memorial, located inside the 180th Fighter Wing. The memorial incorporates artifacts from all three attack sites, including beams from the World Trade Center, limestone from the Pentagon, and soil from the Pennsylvania field where Flight 93 crashed. Glass ingots represent the lives lost, while a clock face surrounding the memorial marks the times of the significant events of that morning.
FINAL REGISTRATION DEADLINE: FRIDAY, AUGUST 14th.
Because we are entering an active military installation, there will be absolutely no late registrations or exceptions after the deadline.
Registration and required security information must be provided directly to Lt. Col. Diana Sluhan and Perrysburg Rotary 2nd Vice President.
Diana must receive your:
Driver’s License Information
Social Security Number
Date of Birth
IMPORTANT BASE ACCESS INFORMATION
If you do not have a military ID, you will need a REAL ID with the star in the upper right corner. If your driver's license is not a REAL ID, an additional form of identification will be required. Diana will work directly with those members regarding acceptable documentation.
All vehicles will be searched before entry onto the base is approved.
Please make sure your vehicle is free of prohibited items before arriving. No drugs or weapons will be permitted on the property. This includes firearms, even if you are legally licensed or otherwise permitted to carry one.
If you have been thinking about joining us, now is the time to register. Once Friday's deadline passes, we cannot add additional attendees.
Twenty-five years later, we have an extraordinary opportunity to come together as Rotarians to remember those who were lost, honor those who answered the call to serve, and experience a memorial built to ensure that our community never forgets.
We hope you will join us for this very special Rotary on the Road.
